  1. Ben Thé

    SAIKO 187

    26.3.2022 - 6.5.2022

The exhibition derived its title from a fabric pattern featured in a large-scale installation by Ben Thé, produced in collaboration with Thibaut Espiau of Artist Club Coffre Fort. The presentation focused on Thé's practice, showcasing his drawings, paintings, screen prints, and sculptures, alongside collaborative works with Lucas Rollin and Sophie Vanhomwegen.

Central to the exhibition was an immersive environment constructed as a retail space. This installation served as a direct physicalization of Thé's artistic world, a realm assembled from the graphic languages of early advertising, mid-century commercial design, and cartoon iconography. Through this playful assemblage of references, Thé examines the visual vernacular of consumer culture. The resulting installation proposes a model where art sheds its institutional pretense, advocating for an experience that is both accessible and democratically engaged with the everyday.
